Attorney Steven J. Megerle
Steven J. Megerle is a second generation attorney. He works closely with his father Stephen C. Megerle. Megerle Law is located in downtown Covington, Kentucky minutes from the Kenton County, Campbell County Justice Centers and Eastern District of Kentucky court house a Covington. Steve received a bachelor's degree in English and History from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Steve received his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University. Steve was trusted by the community and elected a city commissioner twice by Covington residents. Steven J. Megerle is licensed to practice in all Kentucky Courts. He is admitted to the federal Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky. Steve is also admitted before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Steve's internships in law school included an externship under United States District Judge David L. Bunning and Magistrate Judge Gregory Wehrman. He worked in numerous civil matters and assisted with preparing work for the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals when Judge Bunning served as visiting appellate judge. Steve also served as a law clerk at the Sanders Law Firm in Covington and at O'Hara Ruberg, Taylor, Sloan, and Sergent. Steve learned both sides of civil litigation, representing plaintiffs and defending clients and insurance companies. It was at this time Steve established his favorable work ethic and interest in civil litigation.
Immediately after law school Steve worked as an associate attorney at the former Oldfield Davidson Rieger PLLC. He then began working alongside his father in 2006.
Since that time, Steve spends his time in Court advocating for his clients. Steve regularly appears in Courts in Boone, Campbell, Kenton, Pendleton, Gallatin, Owen, and Grant counties. He has represented clients in Jefferson, Carroll, Mason, Bracken, Henry, Bell, and Clay counties representing criminal and civil clients. He also represented clients in the Hamilton Court of Common Pleas through admission through local counsel. Unlike colleagues working at large law firms, Steve tried his first civil jury trial less than 5 years into his practice. He has briefed two criminal and argued one civil appeal before the Kentucky Court of Appeals.
